Yes! Trick or Vote! The biggest, best and spookiest Halloween party is coming at you large and in charge!
On Halloween, October 31st, we’re going to have hundreds of young people, in costume, going door to door, reminding other young folks to turn in their ballots.
We’re going to knock on thousands of doors, and make sure our generation is making its voice heard!
And afterwards, of course, we’ll be throwing the best Halloween shindig in town. Keep your ears peeled for bands, etc.
And of course, it’s all ages!

One Pot + Caffe Vita + The Stranger’s own Charles Mudede will be throwing a little dinner in honor of our old friend Paul Miller better known as the internationally renowned recording artist DJ Spooky. Paul’s remarkable new book Sound Unbound just hit book-stands this week – and we are going to dash together a major feast in Vita’s outrageously beautiful capitol hill loft. Go to onepot.org for more details…
Below is the part two follow up to an in-studio performance by local SubPop outfit Tiny Vipers conducted by Vita’s collaboration with Public Access Media we recorded a few weeks back. Tiny Vipers is the project of Seattle-based singer/songwriter Jesy Fortino, a self-taught guitarist whose intricate playing and lonesome vocals give her work a uniquely haunting quality.
Caffe Vita is happy to host and sponsor a remarkable outing to BORNEO…
Photographer Annie Marie Musselman has been given a rare opportunity to travel to Borneo with writer Hillary Rosner (NY Times, Popular Science) to document the critical work being done at the Nyaru Menteng Orangutan Sanctuary. The project will be featured in Audubon Magazine.
In just the last two decades, THE ORANGUTAN POPULATION HAS BEEN DECIMATED BY 86%. Without immediate help, they will be extinct in less than 10 years. Lone Droscher Nielson stood up to stop this catastrophe. Nine years ago she started the Nyaru Menteng Rehabilitation Center in Borneo on a shoestring budget. Today it is the largest primate project on the planet with nearly 700 orangutans and a staff of over 150. She works tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate and release orangutans; knowing that if she stops, they will be lost forever.
With this massive undertaking, there is massive cost. And yet she receives no funding from the Indonesian government and the Sanctuary is always on the precipice of bankruptcy.
We need your support to raise funds for travel and production expenses. Help the orangutans tell their story!
Compete in Seattle’s official Rock-Paper-Scissor tournament of 2008 and support the orangutans.
THE CHAMPION WILL WALK HOME WITH $250 CASH!
