MEET THE PRODUCER… CUPPING.

| April 21, 2009

On April 24th we will be cupping coffees with several members of the cooperative of farms we recently visited in the Aceh region of Northern Sumatra. These farmers are from an area known as Gayo and have been growning some of the most remarkable coffee on the planet for hundreds of years. Mason Sager and Michael Hebb (onepot.org) just returned from a adventurous Farm Direct sourcing trip and were incredibly pleased to hear that our new Sumatran friends were willing and quickly able to visit Seattle.

On the cupping table will be several special coffees grown in the foothills surrounding Lake Tawar and Lake Toba, plus we will be cupping two distinct Kopi Luwaks (arguably the most prized coffees on the planet). This is a rare opportunity to meet and engage in conversation with these dedicated farmers. The cooperative grows 100% organic shade grown coffee, and is currently undergoing Fair Trade certification. The cupping is free and open to the public.
