Vita Table Flamenco Dinner – now with John Sundstrom of Lark fame and Brian Parks from Quinn’s

| October 21, 2009

Just got word that Brian Parks the new chef at Quinn’s and former sous chef from Casa Mono/Bar Jamon in NYC (Mario Batali + Andy Nusser’s amazing Spanish food mecca) will be joining the kitchen for this dinner. And our good friend and James Beard winner John Sundstrom from Lark and Licorous is in as well!

We are incredibly fortunate to have Rafael De Utrera joining the Vita Table directly from Sevilla for an evening of flamenco song, dance, and conversation. Rafael will be joined by his hosts and local flamenco heroes Eric and Encarnación from Children of the Revolution. Expect Spanish cuisine from One Pot + a crew of the cities best chefs – and an experience that should transport us directly to the streets of Seville. Those of you who joined us for the Master Musicians of Jajouka dinner can attest that the intimacy and sheer power of these small gatherings = a damn good time. All of the funds raised from the dinner with go directly to Flamenco Seattle in their ongoing effort to bring us remarkable performers and artists from Spain. $75/person. Price includes dinner, vino, music, salvation. Click Here to Grab Seats.

Thank you for supporting Big Night For Abruzzo!
The collective efforts of all our sponsors, supporters, participating restaurants and chefs raised more then $64,000 for the victims on the April, 2009 L’Aquilla earthquake. These much needed funds have been allocated to rebuild a devastated recreation sports facility that was destroyed in the quake.

This tragic earthquake hit 6.3 on the Richter scale and devastated the central Italian region of Abruzzo on April 6th 2009 @ 3:25AM, taking close to 300 lives, hospitalizing over 25,000 and displacing more than 60,000.

Proceeds have been given directly to: Polisportiva Paganica Rugby and will be used to help rebuild the sports and recreation facility lost in the devastated town of Paganica, the epicenter of the earthquake. Currently, hundreds of displaced youth in Paganica and neighboring communities have no organized sports or facilities because of the destruction resulting from the earthquake.
