It was a gourmand’s dream-come-true: an exquisite dining experience for 20 in the stunning Caffe Vita Loft in Seattle. Brendan McGill (Hitchcock Restaurant), Ethan Stowell (Ethan Stowell Restaurants) an Bob Prince (Caffe Vita) provided the culinary delights and wine pairings!
It was the St. Martins’ University Gala Auction where the chef’s dinner was purchased. It was sold for $7800.00. 100% of that went to St. Martins’ and was purchased by James Phillips, Drew Phillips and David Owens!
They work for Berschauer Phillips Construction and have built many projects on the St. Martin’s campus.
We participate in this event at the request of our good friend and Salumi owner Armandino Batali. Armandino is a 1958 graduate of St. Martins’ University.
Some Highlights – The menu featured Ricotta Ravioli with Brown Butter and Peas by Ethan Stowell, Neah Bah Halibut with Morels and Oven Roasted Ramps by Bob Prince, Bainbridge Island Duck done 4 ways by Brendan McGill, and a “to die for” Coconut Cake by Heather Earnhardt of Wandering Goose.
The wines were selected by Via Tribunali’s Travis Hawkins and were great pairings.
