Block Party Appetizer: RAC

| July 22, 2014

RAC, aka Andre Anjos, from Portugal, started remixing songs in 2007 with former members Andrew Maury and Karl Kling. Since then, he’s reinvented hundreds of songs by a range of artists including Two Door Cinema Club, Ellie Goulding, Bob Marley and Phoenix, displaying immense talent that includes an ear for remixes.

Fans have probably even heard a remix or two by RAC without realizing it.

Lately, Andre has been creating original music that can be found on his debut album, Strangers Parts I and II, released in March and April of this year, which includes original songs like “Sixteen” and “Cells,” in addition to upbeat remixes of several other hits.

Taking the main stage on Sunday, June 27 at 5pm, RAC’s upbeat, electro-pop tunes will be sure to put every fan in a dance-happy mood.

Block Party Appetizer: The Budos Band

| July 22, 2014

The Budos Band sound will transport you straight back to the 70’s.

Influenced by Afrobeat King Fela Kuti, their retro vibe makes listeners want to get down and move every part of their body. But it doesn’t stop there, though. With some added soul, funk, jazz, psychedelic rock and a killer horn section accompanying the large group, and one feels the complete melting pot of genres that makes the band so unique.

With a number of their hits featured such places like commercials and TV shows, it’s obvious that the transcending sounds they make are both catchy and hip, and their four different albums are proof that the group has managed to gather a following that will travel far and wide for good music.

Made up of 10 different members, The Budos Band blend incredible sounds up the rich and raw instrumentals you can groove to.

Performing on the main stage at Block Party on Saturday, July 26 at 9:10pm, The Budos Band is a group that is sure to make anyone to dance around thanks to the good, funky beats.
