Time is running out to claim your seat at the next Public Brewing School, Caffe Vita’s free class on all things coffee. We are excited to feature our latest import from Papua New Guinea, a cooperatively grown coffee by native farmers who’ve pledged their land to conservation. We’ll feature this exciting coffee alongside many others, and brew with a variety of tools and techniques. This one is being held in Capitol Hill, May 4th, 10:00 to noon. Email trainingdept@caffevita.com to reserve your place in this month’s installment of PBS!

A Barista Prodigy at Tyler Street Café

| April 12, 2013

Meet John Hasson and his daughter Isabella. John is the owner and chef at Tyler Street Café in Port Townsend, WA. His 11 year old daughter Isabella is a barista prodigy. We were so impressed with Isabella’s latte art and overall technique that we wanted to showcase it here.

If you’re a Port Townsend resident, or plan on visiting for this year’s Rhododendron Festival during the last weekend of May, pay Tyler Street café a visit. You may find Isabella behind the counter practicing her skills, try some of John’s delicious cooking or sample some pastries made by his wife Anca.

Donation Pledge to 12th Avenue Arts

| October 4, 2011
Caffe Vita will donate 10 percent of Capitol Hill coffee bar sales from the month of October to 12th Avenue Arts, a new Capitol Hill Housing (CHH) building to be constructed near 12th Avenue and East Pine Street. This mixed-use development will bring more than 80 affordable apartments, community meeting space, and permanently affordable performing arts space to the neighborhood.

Last Tuesday at Sole Repair, supporters and neighborhood business owners gathered to hear project updates and learn about the progress of the capital campaign (CHH’s first ever). Through a mix of funding sources including private donations, grants, tax credit, state programs and commercial bank loans, CHH is hard at work to secure the $38 million required for construction. The groundbreaking is slated for the summer of 2012, and the project is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2014.
For more information on 12th Avenue Arts or how you can support the capital campaign, get in touch with the kind people at Capitol Hill Housing.

In fact, we feel so strongly that we’re going to help spread the word about some of our community institutions, starting with the Pacific Science Center.

Mission: Pacific Science Center inspires a lifelong interest in science, math and technology by engaging diverse communities through interactive and innovative exhibits and programs.

Caffé Vita Supporting and Serving at Auction of Washington Wines

| August 5, 2010

It’s pretty widely accepted, in Seattle anyway, that coffee beans can be as nuanced and varied in taste in the same way various wines are. It’s fitting then that Caffé Vita’s excellent will again be the coffee sponsor for the Auction of Washington Wines (AWW) taking place August 19-21. The AWW is a very important fundraiser that benefits the Seattle Children’s Hospital and raises funds towards the near $100 million the hospital needs annually for uncompensated care (a service that makes sure all Washington children receive the best care available regardless of insurance coverage).

In addition to providing auction items, Caffé Vita’s mobile coffee cart will be serving fine espresso drinks and coffee during these AWW events:

-Barrel Auction and Picnic with the Winemakers on August 19th, info here.
-Covey Run 10K race, and 5k race/walk on August 21st, info here.
- Gala Auction on August 21st, info here.
