Coffee Shop Series, Oct 13 VIP Tour and Concert

Last night was our second Coffee Shop Series concert in partnership with Verizon. Before the sweet indie-pop bands The Scene Aesthetic and He Is We took the stage a half-block away at Neumos, we hosted VIPs for a roasting demo and roasterie tour. To gain their exclusive status, these kind people donated their used wireless phones to Verizon’s Hopeline program. Additionally, they were treated to a meet & greet with the bands, a Via Tribunali pizza dinner, and drinks, too.
The next Coffee Shop Series concert will feature Motopony and The Maldives at Neumos on November 3. Tickets are free, and we’ll post more details on the blog next week. Check out our photos from our fun time last night, and see you at the next show!

There was time to enjoy a cup of French press Finca Nuevo Vinas before heading back to Neumos.

Between bands, prizes were distributed to the crowd. Prizes included tins of Caffe Vita coffee, a signed drumhead, an Xbox LIVE subscription, and a coveted HTC smartphone.

We’re pleased to announce the upcoming performances of He Is Weand The Scene Aesthetic at Neumos on Thursday, October 13, at 8pm. These two local indie pop bands will perform a free, all-ages concert as part of Verizon Wireless’ Coffee Shop Series.

While they last, the free tickets will be available for pick-up at the following Caffe Vita and Verizon Wireless locations, beginning October 6 through October 10:

If you have a used wireless phone to donate, bring it to the Downtown or Northgate Verizon Wireless locations during October 6-10, and they’ll thank you with a limited edition Caffe Vita coffee tin (while supplies last) and a chance to win a VIP Experience, which includes a pre-party and Meet & Greet with both bands. Phone donations to Verizon’s HopeLine phone recycling program support victims of domestic violence.

Block Party Kick-Off: Morning Teleportation in the Bean Room

An unofficial kick-off to the 2011 Capitol Hill Block Party will happen in the Caffe Vita Bean Room on Thursday, July 21, at 8pm. We’re excited to bring you the Portland-based Psych rockers, Morning Teleportation. They are currently on tour, performing from their debut album, Expanding Anyway. Here’s a video — check them out:
