Caffe Vita Kicked it At Timber! Music Fesitval

| July 31, 2014

Last weekend, the Caffe Vita crew brought espresso and our signature cold brew to the woods for Timber! Outdoor Music Festival in Carnation, WA.

Just 500 feet across the Shaky Foot Bridge, the Vita cart was providing thousands of families and music lovers with their caffeine fix for four days of camping in the Valley, kayaking on the Snoqualmie and Tolt Rivers and of course, amazing sets by Damien Jurado, Charles Bradley, J. Mascis and more.

Charles Bradley sported his Caffe Vita shirt on the ferry to Canada a few days after Timber! Festival.

The Physics came by to get some Vita gear.

Timber! Fest was created in 2013 by festival organizers, Kevin Sur, Chad Clibborn and Phil O’Sullivan, who also curate Doe Bay Fest on Orcas Island each August. Caffe Vita’s Training Supervisor Ross Beamish sat down with Chad and Phil to talk about their inspiration for creating a family-friendly weekend.

“We had this idea to make Timber! like a summer camp because there are so many music festivals today and we wanted to make this unique. We asked ourselves, how does Timber! pop off the page from all of the other music festivals? And its not just about the music, its about the entire experience” said Chad.

When asked what he was looking forward to most about this year’s festival, Phil said “we are just really excited to deliver even more of the Timber! experience by getting people in the water with our partner REI, and out in the woods on hikes by Carter Subaru.”

Our Vita crew’s most memorable moments of Timber! include: listening to the guitarist from Hobosexual play the National Anthem on the footbridge while his notes echoed down both rivers; Damien Jurado’s campfire set just before midnight on Friday; an amazing show by Seattle-favorites, The Physics; and Charles Bradley’s dance party on Saturday night.

You can catch Vita next week at Doe Bay and stay tuned for more interviews and pictures from our summer events!

What We’re Diggin’ on July 22nd

| July 22, 2014

A$AP Rocky’s pumped for Capitol Hill Block Party, are you?

For those searching for something to do this week, you’re definitely not short on options.

From the REI Village truck coming to our Fremont cafe tomorrow morning from 7-10am, to the Timber Outdoor Music Festival Thursday-Saturday and, of course, Capitol Hill Block Party going on this weekend, Caffe Vita will be all over the place either handing out some coffee or interacting with all of you.

And because we’re really excited about everything going on, we’re letting you know what we’re diggin’ this week to help get you prepped and hyped—so take notes, have fun and we’ll see you all over the place in the next few days.

Gretchen Hackler, Marketing Director: “I’m diggin’ the hike up Tiger Mountain to Poo Poo Point that I recently did. That eight-mile trek gave my booty quite the workout! I earned that Sammie at the top, what a view! I’m also diggin’ the Vita Stage at Summit Block party, excited for this local, free event!”

Gair Wissenbach, Roaster/Manager, New York Lower East Side: “I’m diggin’ our vintage Gothot cranking out batches of batches of Theo to help all us New Yorkers beat the heat.”

Hanna Berry, Manager, Portland Old Town: “I’m diggin’ toddy with the Brazil Sao Benedito, accordion buskers from France, old school hip hop, the Via Tribunali fig pizza special, tie dye overalls, cut off wranglers and letting the good times roll!”

Liz McConnell, Owner: “I’m diggin’ on learning that the philosophy behind Krug Grand Cuvée is the same as Del Sol.”

Sarah Ilgenfritz, HR Coordinator: “I’m diggin’ on supporting our staff who are playing this weekend at Block Party. Hearts are Thugs—featuring Erin Bednarz—is playing the midnight supper in the Vita Bean Room Sunday night and So Pitted—featuring Queen Anne barista Jeannine Koewler—is playing on the Cha Cha stage at 3:45pm on Sunday. “

Skyler Locatelli, Sales Rep: “I’m diggin’ The Brazil rancho pour over I enjoyed yesterday prepared by Vita’s Head Trainer Ross Beamish!”

Rick Friel, Grocery Field Rep: “I’m diggin’ Vita’s continued support of Beacon Food Forest. Check out their website to see the good work they’re doing in the community. It’s a pleasure to bring them hot organic coffee on a Saturday morning.”

Chrissy Nolan, Wholesale Rep: “I’m diggin’ on hot yoga set to a killer soundtrack at The Grinning Yogi—you’re sure to encounter at least one Vita babe there at any given time. After getting my sweat on and endorphins up, I like to take a walk down the block for some oysters and prosecco at The Coastal Kitchen. That’s some Zen for you.

Nick Dimengo, Content Creator: “I’m diggin’ giving up my body (and possibly life) for Vita at Block Party this weekend. Keep an eye on @CaffeVita’s Twitter and tag #VitaCHBP to choose what I should drink, eat, wear, shows I should go to and, of course, a special little surprise question which may or may not involve a tattoo.”

Pearl Nelson, Sales Rep: “I’m diggin’ on the West Edge Market, Harbor Steps and the great customer service from Jane and Z.”

Nick Wilton, Sales Rep: “I’m diggin’ Burning Beast. We had a great time this past weekend.”
