Last weekend, the Caffe Vita crew brought espresso and our signature cold brew to the woods for Timber! Outdoor Music Festival in Carnation, WA.
Just 500 feet across the Shaky Foot Bridge, the Vita cart was providing thousands of families and music lovers with their caffeine fix for four days of camping in the Valley, kayaking on the Snoqualmie and Tolt Rivers and of course, amazing sets by Damien Jurado, Charles Bradley, J. Mascis and more.
Timber! Fest was created in 2013 by festival organizers, Kevin Sur, Chad Clibborn and Phil O’Sullivan, who also curate Doe Bay Fest on Orcas Island each August. Caffe Vita’s Training Supervisor Ross Beamish sat down with Chad and Phil to talk about their inspiration for creating a family-friendly weekend.
“We had this idea to make Timber! like a summer camp because there are so many music festivals today and we wanted to make this unique. We asked ourselves, how does Timber! pop off the page from all of the other music festivals? And its not just about the music, its about the entire experience” said Chad.
When asked what he was looking forward to most about this year’s festival, Phil said “we are just really excited to deliver even more of the Timber! experience by getting people in the water with our partner REI, and out in the woods on hikes by Carter Subaru.”
Our Vita crew’s most memorable moments of Timber! include: listening to the guitarist from Hobosexual play the National Anthem on the footbridge while his notes echoed down both rivers; Damien Jurado’s campfire set just before midnight on Friday; an amazing show by Seattle-favorites, The Physics; and Charles Bradley’s dance party on Saturday night.
You can catch Vita next week at Doe Bay and stay tuned for more interviews and pictures from our summer events!
