Rwanda Sholi Coop
The Sholi Co’op located in Rwanda is a women-owned and run cooperative. Sholi translates to “mutual assistance” which could not be a more accurate way to describe how the members of this cooperative operate, helping each other to create better livelihoods. They’ve done so by creating a women’s association called Kundwa, which has helped to start a micro-finance program, paying for health insurance for members, and covering fees for children to attend school. Their mission, as shown through their operation, is to “do good, and be good”, which aligns with our mission at Caffe Vita to do good and be good for those that we serve. The Sholi cooperative is at the beginning stages of its operation, and we are beyond honored to be able to share a beautiful washed, bourbon coffee that they produced. This coffee shines with flavors of blood orange, and mango, layered with a delicate dark honey sweetness.
