Caffe Vita is constantly traveling the globe in pursuit of exceptional coffees that meet high standards of environmental and social sustainability, forging relationships with coffee growers and sourcing and roasting the most unique coffees available. Every coffee that we purchase must have a fully traceable path from farm to roaster. As a result, we are able to ensure that the environmental, economic, and social conditions for sustainability are being met. Promoting sustainability involves attention to detail at every stage of the supply chain: from seedling, soil, and shade to composting, re-using, and recycling. The farmer must receive a price for their coffee that allows them to sustain and improve their land, family, and community. By investing in the health and future of our producing partners and their communities, we can continue to reward our customers with a one-of-a-kind coffee experience. We are uncompromising about the following criteria:
The coffee must be exceptional, exhibiting the distinctive quality reflective of dedicated cultivation and care.
The amount the grower or local cooperative receives must exceed Fair Trade pricing.
The grower must be committed to healthy environmental practices, such as water treatment and recycling, responsible land management including the conservation of native biodiversity, and minimal or no use of pesticides and herbicides.
The grower or cooperative must be committed to healthy social and business practices, such as fostering a safe and healthy work environment, paying fair wages, contribution towards education and social services, and investing in local infrastructure.
A representative from Caffe Vita must visit the farm at least once per harvest.
