4. a company of just the right size, with just enough seated courage to begin to let some of the actual stories surrounding coffee get told. starbucks (or, really, any other roaster) isn’t going to tell you about the ethiopian exporter with 14 wives, the outbreak of guerilla violence in guatemala, or really take the time to impart the hundreds of remarkable tales of beauty, difficulty, exasperation, and/or cultural poetry surrounding the bean. vita has commissioned one pot to make tables – collect stories – and simply: tell them.
