The Tarrazú region is famous for being the home of the country's most beloved coffees. Soft Serve displays the terroir’s classic crisp, bright notes with tangy tangerine and the zesty sweetness of yuzu. Providing a fundamental base for these high notes to shine is a well-rounded chocolatiness. The clean, tea-like mouthfeel is what elevates this brew to the highest quality; none of it possible without grower Luz Marina.  

Tucked away in the highlands is the Santa Elena estate. The farm, or finca, is run by Luz who grew up running through the coffee fields as a child. Today she employs sustainable farming practices and maintains the health of her local watershed – all in the pursuit of the highest quality coffee. Shade grown, her coffees’ pulp provides a closed-loop fertilizer system as it is composted by red-wiggler worms. Not only does her water treatment system meet the nation’s highest standards, but she provides similar systems to all her staff for personal use.  

Only 20-30% of the world’s coffee growers are women and Luz continues to succeed with every yield, fine-tuning the rich complexities of honied, natural coffees.
