Botanic Panic: Ethiopia Reko Aricha

Ripe with natural flowery sweetness, this washed process coffee also exhibits a refreshing tea-like mouthfeel, balanced with a Meyer lemon sweetness. This combination with the additional notes of oolong and fresh flowers makes Botanic Panic an exciting showcase of the iconic elegance Ethiopian coffees are known for.  

Located within the Gedeo zone, farmers of the Rako community steward the land where they plant false banana trees and acacias to provide shade for the coffee plant. The latter is leguminous and naturally reintroduces nitrogen into the soil, resulting in a sustainable fertilizer. These farmers know coffee incredibly well – this is the plant’s homeland after all. Essentially acting as guardians, they ensure the future of these legendary indigenous coffees for generations to come.  

Ethiopia is where coffee’s story began and today their coffee is renowned for its sweet and distinct floral profile. The washed process of our Botanic Panic brings out a nutty citrus quality not always common in these varietals. Ideal for espresso drinks and pour-overs, our latest single origin offers a delicate elevation in your coffee experience.
